How working with me works
These are the standing terms for website builds, care plans and hourly fixes. Your written quote states what applies to your job, and where the two differ the quote wins.

Website builds
- A fixed written quote comes first. Nothing starts and nothing is owed until you have accepted a quote saying exactly what is included and what it costs.
- A deposit books the work and the balance is due when the site goes live. The amount and the dates are set out in your quote. The deposit covers design and build time already spent, so it is not refundable once work has started.
- The quote is the scope. Small adjustments along the way are part of the job. If you ask for something genuinely new, such as extra pages or a feature we had not discussed, I quote it separately before doing it rather than adding it to the bill.
- The site is yours. Once the balance is paid you own the site, the content and the domain. If you ever want to move it elsewhere or have someone else look after it, I hand everything over properly.
- You provide the words and pictures unless the quote says otherwise, and you confirm you have the right to use what you give me.
Care plans
- Rolling monthly, cancel any time. No minimum term and no exit fee. Cancel whenever you like and the plan runs to the end of the month you have paid for.
- Included changes means routine content changes: prices, opening hours, photographs, wording, adding a simple page, all within your plan's monthly time allowance. A redesign or a new feature is not a small change, and I quote those separately and say so up front.
- Included time does not roll over from one month to the next. That is what keeps the plans cheap. If you regularly need more time than your plan includes, moving up a plan usually costs less than paying by the hour.
- What every plan covers: software and security updates, weekly backups that get tested rather than just taken, and uptime monitoring, with the response times listed on the care plans page.
- Plans are invoiced monthly and payable within 14 days. Care plans are for sites I have built or looked over first, and they are charged at the standard rate rather than the founding price.
Hourly fixes
- £40 an hour, and you know the likely time before I start. If a job turns out bigger than estimated I stop and check with you before carrying on.
- You pay for time worked, invoiced after the job or monthly for ongoing bits and pieces, payable within 14 days.
The general bits
- I tell you the truth about what you need, including when the honest answer is nothing.
- I take reasonable care with everything I touch and I keep a backup before making a significant change. I cannot accept liability for losses caused by things outside my control, such as a hosting provider outage or a third party service closing down, but if something has gone wrong I will help put it right either way.
- LM Digital is the trading name of Luke Millward, a sole trader based in Stockport. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
